Lillian I. Bradley

Mrs. Lillian I. Bradley, age 49, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City. Mrs. Bradley was born April 10, 1953, in Forrest City, the daughter of Ben Woodard and Elizabeth Tomlin.

Mrs. Bradley is survived by her husband, Curtis Bradley of Madison; two daughters, Ruby A. Bradley and Lucretia C. Bradley both of Forrest City; five sisters, Bobbie Brown, Ora Brown, Sandra McCoy and Jannie Faye Woodard all of Forrest City and Caneila Flenoy of St. Louis, Mo.; Seven brothers, Benjamin Woodard and Bernard Woodard both of Forrest City, Andrew Diggs and Rickey Woodard both of Newport News, Va., Daniel Poole of Marianna, Willie Woodard of Fort Lynewood, Mo., and Wayne Tomlin of Palestine; a step-mother, Inez Woodard of Forrest City and three grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Bradley will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, from 12 to 5 p.m. and a wake will be follow from 5 to 6 p.m., both in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at 1 p.m. at Beth Salem M. B. Church with Rev. Rickey Woodard officiating. Burial will follow in Scott Bond Cemetery in Madison.


Joella Berry Diffey

Mrs. Joella Berry Diffey of Kentucky, former longtime resident of Forrest City, died at noon yesterday at the home of her daughter in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Mrs. Diffey, who was the former Joella Berry, a native of Bentonville, Arkansas, had retired in Kentucky and been making her home with the Alexanders for some time. She died following a short illness.

Mrs. Diffey was preceded in death by her husband of many years, John A. Diffey of this city. She is survived by three daughters, Susan Diffey Marlowe of Little Rock, Jo Diffey Alexander of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, and Laura Diffey Mazzanti of Forrest City, as well as a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements in Forrest City are pending and will be announced later.


Louene Melton

Mrs. Louene Melton, age 70, of Forrest City, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Melton, born Dec. 25, 1932, in Crossett, was the daughter of Louie Moffatt and Helen Barnett Moffatt. She was a housewife and a member of First Baptist Church in Forrest City.

Mrs. Melton is survived by one son, Dudley Melton of Forrest City; one sister, Sue Haddock of Austin Texas, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis D. Melton in 1992.

Visitation services for Mrs. Melton will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Melton will be held on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at 10 a.m. at Morgan Chapel with Bro. Allen Smith and Bro. Danny Haflich officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Forrest City.


Allie Irene Stidham

Mrs. Allie Irene Stidham, age 84, of Forrest City, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003.

Mrs. Stidham was born Nov. 23, 1918, in Nauvoo, Ala., the daughter of John Heflin and Ida Meeks Heflin. She made her home in Forrest City for most of her life, was a housewife and was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church.

Mrs. Stidham is survived by five daughters, Linnie Kimble of Colt, Betty Barkley of Palestine, Ann Vicks of Clarksville, Stella Blundell of Marion and Sylvia Cleaver of Forrest City; three sons, Travis Stidham of Wynne, and Troy Stidham and Edward Stidham both of Forrest City; one sister, Pauline Barabee, of Rosebud, Ga.; 40 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Annette Kimble in 1996 and a son Ottis Stidham.

Visitation for Mrs. Stidham will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at 2 p.m. at First Pentecostal Church with burial following in Forrest Park Cemetery.
