Mrs. Eugenia Dowland Thompson, age 76, of Forrest City, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at her home.
Mrs. Thompson was born July 20, 1926, in St. Francis County, the daughter of Sam L. Martin and Lottie Davis Martin. She lived in St. Francis County all of her life, was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Thompson married M.W. Thompson in 1973, and he survives her along with one son, Roy C. Dowland of Collierville, Tenn.; two brothers, Ray Rawlison of Tucson, Ariz. and Sam Martin of Greenburg, Ky.; three sisters, Lena Robbins and Mary Helen Taylor both of Forrest City, and Tolise McGough of West Helena; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Thompson will be held Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery.
