WRidge ump gets World Series assignment

Jeff Smallmon, Northeast Arkansas District Four Administrator announced last week that umpire Randy Johnson, of Walnut Ridge, has been selected from all of the umpires in Little League to officiate at the 2003 Big League Baseball "World Series" Tournament.

The tournament will be played at Easley, SC. Smallmon added.

"I knew that Randy would represent our district and state well at regionals and his selection to the "World Series" Staff is no surprise to us who know him," Smallmon said.
