Mrs. Phontella E. Pierce, age 71, of Forrest City, died Tuesday
evening July 8, 2003, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center
in Jonesboro after a long illness.
Born March 23, 1932, in Duncan, OK, to George and Viola Jane
Hall Kirk, she was a housewife and a member of the Assembly of
God Church.
Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her parents, one brother,
Kenneth Kirk and one sister, Toylee Reed.
Mrs. Pierce is survived by her husband, Gordon Pierce; one son,
Bruce Pierce, and his wife Sharon, of Forrest City; two daughters,
Joy Cox of Jonesboro and DeLynn Brown of Marion; five grandchildren,
Joel Cox, Jason and Lacey Brown, and Brian and Joshua Pierce;
two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Teagan Cox and a special
family friend, Mickie Hess.
Visitation for Mrs. Pierce will be Friday evening, July 11, 2003
from 6 to 8 at the Morgan Chapel.
Graveside services for Mrs. Pierce will be Saturday afternoon,
July 12, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery with Rev.
William Cooper officiating under the direction of Morgan Funeral
Home.
