Mr. Lloyd Tennyson Booker, age 70, of Colt, died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Booker was born June 4, 1933, in Allsbrough, Ala., the son of Zeke and Daize McVay Booker. He was a diesel mechanic and a Methodist.
Mr. Booker is survived by his wife, Catherine Booker, a son, Samuel Booker of Tennessee; a daughter, Mary Yancey of Little Rock; two step-sons, Eddie Dunavant of Paragould and Joseph Hoskins of Reno; three sisters, Louise Luttrell of Mississippi; and Earline Kay and Frances Jones both of Alabama.; a brother, James W. Booker of Alabama; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death a daughter, Rita Carol Rickett in 2001 and a brother, Hugh Bradley Booker in 2000.
Funeral services for Mr. Booker were held on Saturday, July
12, 2003, at Morgan Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Morris
Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Alabama.
Mrs. Edith Mae Cooley, age 66, of Locust Grove, died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at the University of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock.
Mrs. Cooley was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Locust Grove. She is survived by her husband, Tom Cooley of Locust Grove; a son, Tommy Harold Cooley of Jonesboro; four sisters, Hazel Duncan and Jeanette Papke both of Forrest City, Carolyn Fusher of Marion and Linda Cox of Widener; two brothers, Dean Martin of Colt and Thomas Martin of Russellville; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cooley will be held on Tuesday, July
15, 2003, at 1 p.m. Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel in West
Memphis. Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery in Forrest City.
Bro. Dee Paul Coulter, age 85, of Aubrey, died Friday, July 11, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Bro. Coulter was born May 4, 1918, in England, the son of Georgia and Dee Paul Coulter Sr. He was a minister for 30 years, and a police officer in Hughes, Dewitt and Cherry Valley in the 1950's.
Bro. Coulter is survived by his wife, Margree Coulter of Marianna; three sons, Carl Coulter of Marion, Robert Coulter of Morrilton and Wayne Coulter of Marianna; two daughters, Jean Woodruff of Van Buren and Margie Harris of Aubrey; two step-sons, Homer and Bobby Calloway; a brother, Henry Coulter of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a sister, Elizabeth Leonard of Aubrey; 35 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Bro. Coulter were held on Monday, July
14, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Moro with
Bro. David Osborn and Bro. Robert May officiating. Burial followed
in Marianna Memorial Park. Bob Neal and Sons Brickell Funeral
Home of Marvell was in charge of all arrangements.
Mrs. Ivonette Rolland, age 78, of Forrest City, died Friday, July 11, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mrs. Rolland was born June 25, 1925, in Bee Branch, the daughter of William Daniel Crownover and Pearl Winningham Crownover. She was a retired school teacher with the Forrest City School District and a member of the Arkansas Education Association. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Second Baptist Church.
Mrs. Rolland is survived by her husband, Cecil Rolland of the home; a son, Kim Rolland of Widener; a daughter, Amy Belcher of Wynne; two sisters, Stella Mae Sample of Clinton and Jeanette Maddox of North Little Rock; two brothers, Verne Crownover of Clinton and Carl Crownover of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rolland were held on Monday, July 14, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Second Baptist Church. Burial followed in Forrest Park Cemetery with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
