Rev. John Wesley Wymes Sr., age 78, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at Crestpark Retirement Inn.
Rev. Wymes was born April 27, 1925, in Kokomo, the son of Sid Wymes and Sarah Murry Wymes. He is survived by four daughters, Gloria Barton of Palestine, Clara Barton and Nazrene Grace both of Forrest City, and Marie Moore of Little Rock; two sons, John Wymes Jr. of Forrest City and James Wymes of Little Rock; a brother, James Wymes of Little Rock; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was receded in death by his wife, Mable Wymes, in May of 2003.
Visitation for Rev. Wymes will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2003, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 21, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Pilgram Rest M.B. Church with Rev. Napolia Grace officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.
