Christine Jones

Mrs. Christine Jones, of Forrest City, died Sunday, July 20, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughters, Geneva Pitts of El Sobarnte, Calif., Frances Shaw, Cora Jamison and Joann Jennings all of Forrest City, Ora Jones of San Francisco, Calif., Redeen Thomas of Jonesboro and Mary Ann Davis of West Memphis; a son, Tony Jones of Forrest City; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Jones will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2003, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Beth Salem M.B. Church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Beth Salem M.B. Church. Burial will follow in Forrest City Cemetery. Anthony Funeral Home of West Memphis is in charge of all arrangements.


Fred V. "Buster" Maness

Mr. Fred V. "Buster" Maness, age 32, of Leesville, La., and formerly of Palestine, died Saturday, July 19, 2003 at his home.

Mr. Maness was born May 12, 1971, in West Memphis, the son of Charles J. Maness Sr. and Jo Ann Burkart Maness. He had lived in Leesville for the past 13 years, was a salesman for APASCO Paint, graduate of Palestine High School and a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Mr. Maness is survived by his parents, of Palestine; and four brothers, Joe Shapkoff of Dallas, Texas, Donald Shapkoff of Leesville, Charles Maness Jr. of Texarkana and Wade Maness of Marion.

Funeral services were held for Mr. Maness on Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial followed in Bell Cemetery. Stevens Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
