Mr. Perry Hickman, age 71, of Wynne and formerly of Forrest City, died Friday, July 25, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Hickman was born May 25, 1932, in Paragould, the son of Alton Hickman and Lizzy Lumbley Hickman. He lived in the area for most of his life, was a Labor Representative for the Teamsters Union and a Veteran of the Korean War. He was also a member of the VFW, American Legion posts 40 and 8, Masons, Shriners, the Moose Lodge and was a Baptist.
Mr. Hickman married Jessie Bishop in 1962, and she preceded him in death in 2000. He is survived by three brothers, Clifford Hickman of Newport, Raymond Hickman of Kahokie, Ill. and Wallace Vance of Wynne; two sisters, Deloise Cauble and Yvonne Hall both of Wynne; and a stepson, James Finley of Forrest City.
Funeral services for Mr. Hickman were held on Monday, July
28, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sarah J. Morlock Scheppler, age 40, of Colt, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis.
Mrs. Scheppler was born June 13, 1963, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Harvey Lee Morlock and Ruby L. Neal Morlock. She lived in St. Francis County for the past 10 years, moving here from Chicago, Ill. She was a housewife and a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church.
Mrs. Scheppler is survived by four sons, Kenneth Morlock, Joseph Morlock, Andrew Morlock and Nathanie Scheppler, all of Forrest City; a daughter, Drena Scheppler of Forrest City; her mother of Widener; one brother, Edward Morlock of Overland Park, Kan.; and four sisters, Darla Morlock Hendrickson of Colt, Eve Dilman of Illinois, Linda Robertson of Colt and Rebecca Clark of Montana. She was preceeded in death by a son, Randy D. Heath Jr.
A memorial service will be held at the Good Hope Baptist Church at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2003. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
