Pete Jordan

Mr. Pete Jordan, age 86, of Forrest City, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital ­ Forrest City.

Mr. Jordan, born July 16, 1917, in Forrest City, was the son of Lonnie Jordan and Ida Fort Jordan. He is survived by his wife, Amy Jordan of Forrest City; one son, Clarence Jordan of Memphis; one daughter, Loretta Carter of Chicago, Ill.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation services for Mr. Jordan will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2003, from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. A second visitation service will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2003, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Rising Sun M.B. Church. Funeral services will follow at the church at noon with Rev. John Strong officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.


Margaret Jane Wooten

Mrs. Margaret Jane Wooten, age 69, of Jonesboro, died Sunday, July 27, 2003, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science.

Mrs. Wooten was born Aug. 22, 1933, in Paragould, the daughter of Alex and Martha L. Ezell Kirk. She was a resident of Jonesboro for her entire life and was a Baptist.

Mrs. Wooten is survived by her husband, Harold Wooten of the home; two sons, Terry Wooten and Ronnie Wooten both of Jonesboro; four daughters, Mary Prince of Brookland, Connie Davis and Bonnie K. Wooten both of Jonesboro and Betty Brinson of Hernando, Miss.; two brothers, Robert Kirk of Jonesboro and Alex Kirk of Forrest City; a sister, Mary Kirk of Detroit, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, David Wooten in 1996; and a grandson, Joshua Wooten in 1995.

Visitation services for Mrs. Wooten will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2003, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2003, graveside at Pine Log Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Robbie McMasters officiating
