Mary Frances Luker

Mrs. Mary Frances Luker, age 73, of Forrest City, died Saturday, July 5, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

Mrs. Luker was born Oct. 28, 1929, in Earle, the daughter of Marcus Coleman and Willie Savage Coleman. She lived in Forrest City since 1969, was a retired seamstress with Reltoc and a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church.

Mrs. Luker is survived by two sons, William Michael Luker and Karl Marlon Luker both of Forrest City; a brother, Joseph Richard Coleman of Forrest City; a sister, Doris Westmoreland of Forrest City; a grandchild; and a step-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Odis Luker and two sisters, Juanita Collins and Norma Fitzgerald.

Visitation services for Mrs. Luker will be held on Monday, July 7, 2003, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kernodle Funeral Home in Wynne. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Kernodle Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Goacher officiating. Burial will follow in Cogbill Cemetery in Wynne.

The family requests memorials be sent to the charity of the donors choice.


John B. Milton

Mr. John B. Milton, age 78, of Hughes, died Thursday, July 3, 2003, at Veterans Hospital in Memphis.

Mr. Milton was born July 11, 1924, in Leachville, the son of Henry Milton and Addie Lee Leslie Milton. He lived in Colt most of his life, was a farmer, a veteran of World War II and a Baptist.

Mr. Milton married Mary Meadie Wright in 1946, and she survives him along with three daughters, Patsy Grieff of Thomasville, N.C., Betty Land of Sinton, Texas, and Margaret Smith of Hughes; a son, Virgil Lee Milton of Harrodsburg, Ky.; two sisters, Minnie Stephens of Forrest City and Ethel Hall of Searcy; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. A son, Kenneth Milton, preceded him in death in 1951.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 6, 2003, in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Burial followed in Hughes Cemetery.


Prince Ella Richardson

Mrs. Prince Ella Richardson, age 78, of Minneapolis, Minn., died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minn.

Mrs. Richardson was born April 10, 1925, in Newcastle. She is survived by a son, Clinton Winfrey of Freeport, Ill.; a brother, Rev. O.C. Morgan of Chicago, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Richardson were held on Saturday, July 5, 2003, at 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Clay Funeral Home. A visitation service was held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the service. Rev. O.C. Morgan officiated over the services and burial followed in Forrest City Cemetery.
