Junior Mustangs start drills Aug. 7

The Forrest City Junior Mustangs will hold their first practice on Thursday, Aug. 7 at 1:30 p.m.

The junior high coaching staff will hand out equipment to players on Aug. 4, 5 and 6, between 1 and 3 p.m., at the junior high field house.

Acording to head coach Rich Trail, players must have proof of having had an athletic physical before receiving equipment.

Forrest City returned to the one junior high team format this year after three seasons of fielding two teams in each sport.

Trail, who coached the Blue Mustangs last year, wil be assisted this season by Stan Siler, Barry Hodges and Sonny Shields.

The junior high football season is scheduled to kick off on Sept. 4 against Brinkley.

Rauth in top 50

Forrest City's Adam Rauth finished 1-under Thursday at the Intel Open on the Gateway Pro Golf Tour.

Rauth, a Forrest City High School and ASU graduate, finished 50th in a field of 168.

Rauth recently had a 27th place finih at Greyhawk in a four-round tourney.
