Ms. Lula M. Smith, age 65, of Goodwin, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis. She was the daughter of Frank J. Smith and Luella Smith, and a member of the Goodwin Church of God in Christ.
Ms. Smith is survived by a son, Aharanwa C. Smith of Memphis; 10 brothers, Alex Smith of Helena, Ransom Smith of Goodwin, Bennie Smith and Wilson Smith both of Little Rock, Albert Smith of Forrest City, Howard Smith and Jessie Smith, both of Memphis, Taylor Smith of Austin, Texas, Henry Smith of Tulsa, Okla., and Oliver Smith of Forrest City; three sisters, Josephine Gray of Kansas City, Mo., Ibeauty Smith of Forrest City and Phillis Gines of North; and two grandchildren. Ms. Smith was preceded in death by her mother.
A family hour for Ms. Smith will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Nineveh Church of God in Christ in Forrest City. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 23, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Goodwin Church of God in Christ with Elder Oliver C. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodwin Community Cemetery. The Christian Way Funeral Home of Pine Bluff is in charge of all arrangements.
