Brinkley held the Forrest City American Legion team to just four hits Tuesday night and did not allow any runs in their visit to the Sports Complex.
That stat and six runs by Brinkley left Forrest City on the wrong side of a 6-0 loss, dropping the team below .500 for the first time this season at 5-6.
Forrest City opened the year with two victories and at the worst, headed into Tuesday, the team has been 2-2, 4-4 and 5-5.
Still, the 5-6 mark at this point is far and away better than previous seasons.
Besides getting only four hits, Forrest City drew only four walks off the Brinkley pitching staff while suffering eight strikeouts.
Danny Flowers and Curtis Cole had one hit each while Landon Bullard came through with two hits for Forrest City.
Cole drew the starting assignment for Forrest City and worked into the fifth inning before being lifted for Catfish Hankins, who finished up.
The two Forrest City hurlers combined to give up the six Brinkley runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five.
Brinkley opened a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning and added four more in the fifth, causing the pitching change.
Brinkley sent seven batters to the plate in the inning to score the four runs on three hits and a Forrest City error.
The visitors added a single run in the top of the seventh to make the final.
Forrest City's best opportunity to score came in the bottom of the fourth when Cole drew a one-out walk and moved to third as Bullard followed with a single. A ground out by Hankins left the runners at second and third when Josh Wilson made the final out to end the inning.
Forrest City, under first-year coach Brett Bullard this season, will host Mountain View Thursday at the Sports Complex and will play Newport Saturday in a scheduled doubleheader at the Complex, beginning at 2 p.m.
The team will play a doubleheader on Sunday at Pine Bluff and will return home on Monday to host Wynne for a schedule doubleheader at 5 p.m.

It's all about timing and how well you use the time allotted.
At least, that's what Frank Adams thinks.
Adams coaches Hill's Delta Concrete in the Minor (pitching machine) League.
Tuesday night, Adams' team ran out of time, but not out of luck, even though his Hill's Delta team was trailing Easley Law 6-4 when the game was called due to the time limit.
Forrest City Recreation Director Kenneth Taylor had the explanation that the process of setting up the pitching machine began late, after the official game clock had been started, but that no compensation was made at the end of the game to make up for the lost time -- about 14 minutes.
Adams feels his team was robbed of a chance for a possible come-from-behind victory.
Officially, Tuesday's game is in a state of limbo and has been certified as a "suspended game."
Taylor has the solution.
The two teams are scheduled to play again on Thursday, June 26, in a make up game from a May 13 rain out.
Taylor said the two teams will finish the suspended game from Tuesday, starting at 6 p.m., from the point at which the game was called for one extra inning or about 14 minutes. The make up game will follow.
In other Minor League action Tuesday, Devazier Brothers put away Food Giant 14-4 to improve to 6-2 for the year. Food Giant slips to 5-4.

In the Bambino 9-10 league, Mr. T Auto stayed unbeaten and moved to 8-0 for the year by defeating Sanyo 16-0. Davyon McKinney scored three times to lead Mr. T.
Cochran Auto, two games back at 7-2, slipped past Joey's Muffler 7-6, to remain in second place.
Joey's stays in third while Derrick CPA downed Arkansas Electric 11-9 to stay in fourth place in the league. Lance Hughes and Caleb Sugg hit home runs for Derrick while Cadarius Parchman and Lloyd Hamilton each homered for Joey's.
National Carpet One got three runs from John Gilbreath in a 7-6 win over Giffin's Grins. Jerrod Brown homered for National Carpet.
There's a log jam in the American Division of the girls' 10-under slow pitch softball league.
Dr. Schwartz and Food Giant are both 9-2 for the year and tied for first place.
Tuesday night, Schwartz and Food Giant went head-to-head for the second time this season and the result was the same as the first meeting -- a Schwartz victory.
Katie Barnes, Cara McCollum and Andrea Hall each scored twice to lift Dr. Schwartz to an 8-4 win.
Both teams have three regular season game remaining to decide the championship issue.
In the National Division side Stevens moved to 10-1 for the year by turning back True Value 13-1.
Stevens opened by scoring five runs in the first inning and added five more in the second. Ashley Blaylock, Caroline Nimocks, Breyunna Williams and Kayla Burns scored two runs each for Stevens. Blaylock had two triples in the game while Burns hit a home run in the third.
Walker Insurance downed Southern Furniture 15-2 to stay in second place in the division.
Jasmine Rucker, Lakeria Lucas and Shaciquita Loney each scored three times to lead Walker.
In the final games Tuesday, Forrest City Bank held off Sanyo 10-4 while Title Company ran past Pizza Inn 14-5.
Julie and Deonmonique Glasper scored twice as did Jessica Stultz and K.K. Heard for Forrest City Bank. Deonmonique homered in the third inning.
Meghan Clark scored three runs for Title Company while teammates Gabby Turner, Semiko Grady, Katie Davis and Briuana Green added two runs each.
The T-Ball league will conclude their regular season Friday June 13, just in time to begin the annual post-season tournament on Monday, June 16.
On Friday, the teams will play only about 20 minutes due to the 6:30 p.m. starting times for the girls' district softball tournament, being played at the Sports Complex.
Fifteen of the league's 16 teams will compete in the double-elimination tournament, which will run through Friday, June 21.
