One set of Forrest City All-Stars got to play Thursday and one got rained on. Or out as the case may be.
The 10-year-old All-Stars lost to Wynne 9-4 in the opening game of the District 7 Tournament being played in Helena.
Forrest City drops into the loser's bracket and will play today at 7 p.m., against West Memphis, an 8-4 loser to Helena Twin City Thursday.
Wynne plays Helena today at 5 p.m. in the seven-team, double elimination bracket, while Marion takes on Pine Bluff Seabrook, a 3-2 winner over Pine Bluff International yesterday.
The tournament runs through Monday with the championship game set for 6 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Forrest City 12-year-old All-Stars were postponed a day after heavy rains through the Pine Bluff area made playing Thursday's first round impossible.
The tournament will begin today with all games pushed back.
Forrest City is scheduled to open against West Memphis today at 5 p.m.
The 13, 14 and 15-year-old Forrest City All-Star teams will start district tournament play next weekend while the 9s and the 11s head directly into state tournament play.
The T-Ball All-Stars are scheduled to play in the state tournament at Sylvan Hills over the Fourth of July weekend while the Minor League (pitching machine) All-Star teams will play their state tournament at Sylvan Hills, beginning July 11.
Six area teams will be competing in the 12-and-under fast-pitch Class C tournament, which begins today at Cabot.
Food Giant, which finished second in the regular season and third at the district tournament played here two weeks ago, will play Russellville tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the 24-team, double-elimination style bracket.
A victory tonight brings Food Giant back at 9:30 p.m., to face the South Arkansas Storm, who received a bye.
A loss brings Food Giant back Saturday morning.
Food Giant is the only Forrest City softball team involved in postseason play.
The Renegades and Diamondbacks, both of Jonesboro, are ranked numbers one and two, respectively, headed into the 12-under fast pitch tournament.
The Renegades, with a first-round bye, will play tonight at 9:30 p.m., against the Poyen/Carlisle winner.
The Diamondbacks open play tonight at 8 p.m.
The Paragould Stingers face the Ozark Misfits tonight while the Blades play ay 8 p.m. and the Mystics face the Lil' Bombers at 6:30 p.m.
The Jonesboro Mashers, a District 1 team will play in the Class A 16-under state tournament at Hot Springs July 4-6.
Valley View No. 1 will be playing in Russellville in the 8-and-under machine-pitch tournament which begins today while a pair of Jonesboro teams will head up the contingent of 8-and-under teams playing July 4-6, in the Class B state at North Little Rock's Don McGee Park.
The Lil' Sluggers and Slugg Buggs are the top two teams from the district.
The remainder of the teams will be A&R Ranch of Pocahontas, Chipman of Paragould, Mr. Trophy of Jonesboro, Lil' Fireballs of Jonesboro and the Purina Puppies of Paragould.
Two Paragould teams top the 10-and-under teams going to B state.
The Lady Red Birds and Stompers are one and two, respectively, with the Rampage and Twisters, two more Jonesboro teams, also going to the July 4-6 tournament in Trumann.
In 12-and-under slow-pitch, the CNI Slammers and Georgia Carpet Seambusters are the top two teams from District 1.
The Max of Paragould will be the third team. They will play July 4-6 at Interstate Park in Little Rock.
Jett Fast, of District 2, will compete in the 12-and-under fast-pitch B tournament after winning the District 1 tournament. They will play July 4-6 in Harrison.
Two teams will play Class B from 14-and-under fast-pitch. The Lady Poachers of West Memphis will go in as the top team and the Short Circuits of Paragould are number two.
That tournament will be held in Springdale July 4-6.
The 16-and-under fast-pitch teams competing in the B tournament will do so July 4-6 in Hot Springs.
They are the Wreckers of Paragould, the Flames of Jonesboro, the Bombers and Senter Farms.
In 10-and-under, the Sizzlers and Nitro from Jonesboro will be competing in Sherwood.
Gold Rush from Trumann will play in the 12-and-under slow-pitch tournament at Fort Smith.
Forrest City Sports Complex will host the July Baseball Bash, sponsored by the Delta Storms traveling youth team, July 18-20.
The tournament will feature age divisions from T-Ball through 14-Under.
Entry fees are $150 per team for the three-game guaranteed tournament.

The younger ages will play Cal Ripken rules.
The Forrest City American Legion team opens play today in the George Kell Classic at Newport.
Forrest City plays today at 3 and 8 p.m. and again on Saturday at 8 p.m. The tourney concludes Sunday afternoon.
