Mrs. Ruth Helen Barnett, age 69, of Marion, died Friday, March 21, 2003, at her home in Marion.
Mrs. Barnett, born Jan. 5, 1934, in Forrest City, was the daughter of Ira Roberts and Grady Matlock Roberts. She made her home in the Forrest City and West Memphis areas for all of her life and worked for E. Synder Company for several years. She was a Baptist.
In 1952, Mrs. Barnett married Carl L. Barnett and he preceded her in death in 1999. She is survived by two daughters, Carla Ann Huddle of Scott and Gwen Busby of West Memphis, and one grandson.
Funeral services for Mrs. Barnett were held on Monday, March 24, 2003, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. V. L. Roberts officiating. There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Little Rock National Cemetery.
Mrs. Olivia Cox, age 84, of Forrest City, died Friday, March 14, 2003, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.
Mrs. Cox, the daughter of Johnny Jack and Ophelia Jack, was a baby sitter and a member of First Baptist M.B. Church.
Mrs. Cox is survived by her five daughters, Earnestine Weaver of Forrest City, Esther Thompson, Gloria Adams and Easter Pearl Adams all of Los Angeles, Calif., and Bernice Adams of Racine, Wisconsin.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 22, 2003, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist M.B. Church, with Rev. Sherman Baker officiating. Burial followed in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Kennedy Funeral Home.
