Miss Sherry Lynn Forrest, age 38, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Crestpark Retirement Inn.
Miss Forrest was born March 12, 1965, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Timothy Forrest and Joanne Anderson. She was a veteran of the United States Army.
Miss Forrest is survived by both her parents of Forrest City; her stepmother, Alneather Forrest of Forrest City, and a stepbrother Harold Ford of Little Rock.
Visitation services for Miss Forrest will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2003, from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2003, at the Church of God at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.
Mr. Hayward Henry Gowen, age 90, of Caldwell, died Friday, March 28, 2003, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.
Mr. Gowen, born Feb. 24, 1913, in Colt, was the son of William Jordan Gowen and Sabrella Yarbarough Gowen. He lived in Cross and St. Francis counties for most of his life and was a farmer and a mechanic. Mr. Gowen had served as a Mason and a member of the Colt City Council. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Caldwell.
In 1934, Mr. Gowen married Adelia Hall and she preceded him in death in 1999. He is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Ann Lace of Germantown, Tenn., Henriella Perkins of Sheridan and Chloye Bailey of Little Rock; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Hayward Hall Gowen in 1942.
Funeral services for Mr. Gowen will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2003, at First Baptist Church of Caldwell at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
