Mrs. Ruth Bledsoe Miller, age 82, of Little Rock, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003. She was born June 4, 1920, in Arkadelphia, the daughter of John D. and Rosa Terrell Bledsoe.
Mrs. Miller lived most of her life in McGehee. She was a teacher and a school librarian, was retired from the State Library Commission for the Blind in Little Rock. Mrs. Miller also served as State PTA President, was a past president of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority of professional women, named Arkansas Mother of the Year in 1996 and a member of the Westover Hills Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and Moderator of Cluster Presbyterian Women.
Mrs. Miller is survived by two daughters, Rose Ann Miller Scheiderer of Forrest City and Johnni Miller Huckabee of Hot Springs; a son, Richard H. Miller of Little Rock; one sister, Alice Wilson of Waco, Texas; a brother, Winburn Bledsoe of Tyler, Texas; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey M. Miller.
Visitation for Mrs. Miller was held on Friday, Feb. 28, 2003 at the Ruebel Funeral Home of Little Rock. Graveside services were held on Friday, Feb. 28, 2003 at McGehee Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be made to Arkansas Hospice and the Alzheimer's Association.
