Alvia Thompson

Mrs. Alvia Thompson, aged 94, of Forrest City, died Friday, May 9, 2003 at Crestpark Retirement Inn.

She was born Jan. 9, 1909 in Tennessee, and was a retired school district cook.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by a son, Milton Jones of Forrest City; a daughter, Ruby Payne of Louisville, Ky.; two children and four great grandchildren.

Visitation services for Mrs. Thompson will be held at Clay Funeral Home on Friday, May 16, 2003, from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Riverside Baptist Church on Saturday, May 17, 2003 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Marland Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.


Johnnie Wallace

Mr. Johnnie Wallace, age 78, of Paragould and formerly of Palestine , died Thursday, May 15, 2003, in Paragould.

Mr. Wallace was born July 24, 1924, in Gallaway, Tenn., the son of John and Clara Wallace. He was a farmer and a member of the Little County Church in Paragould.

Mr. Wallace is survived by his wife, Martha Holland Wallace of Paragould; four daughters, Michelle Edwards, Rebecca Thomas and Diana Wallace all of Paragould and Donna Coats of Memphis, and five grandchildren.

Graveside services for Mr. Wallace will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2003, at 10 a.m. at Bell Cemetery in Palestine. Morgan Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
