Joddie Clifford Brown

Mr. Joddie Clifford Brown, age 62, of Marianna, died Friday, May 23, 2003, at his home.

Mr. Brown, born April 23, 1941, in Spiro, Okla., was the son of Lee Roy and Viola Flaherty Brown. He was a retired supervisor at Douglas & Lomason in Marianna. He was a Baptist by faith.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Nathalie McGee Brown of the home; three sons, Dewey Brown and Glen Brown, both of Marianna, and Joddie Brown Jr. of Forrest City; five brothers, Willie Brown of Brinkley, Roy Brown of Mangum, Okla., Lewis Ray Brown of Dardanelle, Johnny Mack Brown of Crosby, Texas, and David Brown of Marianna; three sisters, Dorothy Jean Able of Marianna, Alice Marshall of McRae and Ruthie Hollis of Jonesboro, and two grandchildren. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a son, Michael Lynn Brown, in 1972.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Brown were held today, Monday, May 26, 2003, at Marianna Memorial Park under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.


Neohmi Jean Dieter

Mrs. Neohmi Jean Dieter, age 66, of Forrest City, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis.

Mrs. Dieter, the daughter of Marvin Barger and Leona Winters was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness of Forrest City. She is survived by four daughters, Lavonne Eichman of Forrest City, Pamela Davidson of Dixon, Calif., Deborah Poe of Marianna and Jackie Flowers of Ruskin, Fla.; three sons, Fred Watts of Shreveport, La., Alan Watts of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., and Brian Watts of Bartlett, Tenn.; her mother of Turlock, Calif.; four sisters, Carol Chloupek and Nita Hilton, both of Fremont, Calif., Mildred Barger of Clarence, Mo., and Maxine Myhre of Turlock, Calif.; one brother, David Barger of Turlock, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence P. Dieter.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dieter were held today, Monday, May 26, 2003, at 1 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, under the direction of Forest Hill Funeral Home East in Memphis.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society in Brookland, N.Y.
