Virginia Griggs

Mrs. Virginia Griggs, age 86, of Colt, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at her home. She is survived by her husband, Americus Griggs of Colt; two brothers, Lorenzo Green of Gary, Ind. and Warren G. Green of Colt; four sisters, Vera Brown of California, Addie M. Rodgers of Los Angeles, Calif., Lilly Taylor of Chicago, Ill. and Willene Williams of North Little Rock; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2003, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Wynne. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2003, at 1 p.m. at the Popular Grove M.B. Church in Colt. Burial will follow in Popular Grave Cemetery in Colt.


Samuel Lee "Sam" Wooldridge

Mr. Samuel Lee "Sam" Wooldridge, age 58, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, in Lakeland Tenn.

Mr. Wooldridge was born July 14, 1944, in Mammoth Springs, the son of Jesse Lee Wooldridge and Joyce Irene Thomasson Wooldridge. He served as vice president of a bank in Jackson, Miss. and Memphis, and a credit manager of the First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and was founder of the Scholarship Trust Fund. He was also a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Mr. Wooldridge married Rachel Ammons in 1976, and she survives him along with two daughters, Theresa Moore of Yuma, Ariz. and Anne Crossland of Phoenix, Ariz.; one son, Jon Scot Wooldridge of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a sister, Joy Boteler of Fredricksburg, Va.; one brother, Dennis Wooldridge of Hot Springs; three grandchildren; and a host of other relative and friends.

Visitation for Mr. Wooldridge will be held on Friday, May 9, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2003, at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held following at 5:30 p.m. in Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, Mo. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

The family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, Kiwanis Club Scholarship Fund, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
