Dulins Sports Academy of Memphis will hold a baseball camp for youths, ages 6-12, on Sunday, June 8, from 2 until 5 p.m., on the EACC playing field.

The camp is designed to help boys and girls improve their baseball skills with help from the coaches from Dulins.

The camp will feature such drills as throwing, batting, base-running and fielding

Campers will be given a T-shirt and will grouped and coached according to age and skill level.

*A Kids Fishing Clinic, for ages 8-12, will be held Monday and Tuesday, July 7-8, from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

The clinic will be held at the EACC Learning Resource Center, Room B-129

Specialists from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will conduct the two-day fishing clinic.

Instruction and activities will include take-home crafts, lures, tackle, equipment, fishing biology, fish habitats, water safety and everything to do with catching a fish.

An afternoon fishing derby will be held at a nearby fully stocked lake.

Campers will need to bring a sack lunch each day for a picnic. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Campers will also be given a fully stocked tackle box.

Class size is limited to 25 kids, so sign up early!

Contact the EACC Community Education Department at (870) 633-4480 Ext. 261 or 333 or toll-free 1-877-797-EACC, to register for either or both of the upcoming camps.

Youth games will be played tonight at Sports Complex

The weather forecast is favorable and the fields at the Sports Complex are dry.

That means the city's youth baseball and softball teams can resume their season schedules tonight along with the adult men's softball league.

Tuesday's schedule of games were rained out, leaving the program 48 games in the hole.

A make-up day is in the works and while a definite date has not yet been set, the make up games could be played on Saturday, May 31. A decision on that date will be made as soon as possible.

All league games will begin tonight at 6 p.m. The adult men's softball league will play at 8 and 9 p.m.
