Pearson Insurance moved to the front of the Bambino 11-12 League Monday with a 5-2 win over Lucas Trucking.
Pearson (5-0) moves into first place in the league. It was Lucas' first loss of the year as the team slips to 4-1 and into a tie for second with Wholesale Metal, a winner over Rideout on Monday.
Pearson rode the arm of starting pitcher Mark Machen, who went the distance, giving up the two Lucas runs on three hits and two walks. Machen struck out four and faced just 13 batters -- just four over the limit through three innings.
Lucas struck first in the bottom of the first inning when John Jones singled and scored for a 1-0 lead.
Pearson plated two runs in the top of the second to go up 2-1 when T.J. McFadden doubled and scored and Kemario Tucker walked and scored.
Pearson made it 5-1 by scoring three times in the top of the third.
Machen helped his own cause with a single and got help from Chance Pearson and McFadden, who followed with back-to-back singles. All three Pearson runners scored.
Lucas scored a single run in the bottom of the third when Jerome McDaniel singled and scored.
The rest of the game belonged to pitcher Chance Pearson, who took over for Machen and struck out six of the final seven Lucas hitters.
Markese Ware and Jim Bailey combined for the Lucas pitching duties and gave up the five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out seven Pearson hitters.
Pearson will get another test Thursday when they face Wholesale Metal.
Wholesale is 4-1 in the league and tied for second place.
In Monday's other game, Vaccaro blasted Houser 11-1 to pick up their first win of the year.
Vaccaro opened with five runs in the first inning and added four in the third and two in the fourth.
Caleb Talley scored three times to lead Vaccaro while Gerald Williams, Jared Northcutt and Grant Smith each scored twice.
Darius Coleman scored Houser's only run.
*In Tuesday's Bambino 9-10 League action, Mr. T Auto downed Joey's Muffler 13-2 to remain as the league's only unbeaten team.
Mr. T stands at 3-0 for the year while Joey's falls into a three-way tie for second with Derrick CPA and Cochran Auto. All three teams are 2-1.
Derrick CPA held off Giffin's Grins 7-4 Tuesday while National Carpet One got past Arkansas Electric 10-7.
Cochran Auto was awarded a forfeit win over Sanyo.
Devin Green, Davyon McKinney, Larry Smith and Ryan Green all scored two runs to lead Mr. T in Tuesday's win.
Kerrie Barden and Charles Anderson Jr. scored single runs for Joey's.

Blake Lester, John Gilbreath and Anthony Wallace led National Carpet One by scoring two runs each.
Michael Ludwig and Robert Lee combined to score four of Arkansas Electric's seven runs.
*In the Minor League (pitching machine) Both scheduled games were ruled forfeits.
Hill's Delta Concrete was given a forfeit win over Giffin's Grins when Giffin's failed to produce enought players and Devazier was awarded a forfeit win over JB Sports for the same reason.
It was the first loss of the season for JB Sports and leaves T&J Properties as the only unbeaten team in the league.
T&J, who hasn't played since last Thursday, will take on Easley Law as the Minor League teams resume play Thursday night. That game begins at 7:45 p.m.

Of the five scheduled 10-under girls' slow-pitch softball games scheduled Tuesday, only three were played as two double forfeits were awarded.
True Value and Southern Furniture resulted in a loss being assessed against each team when neither had enough players on hand at game time. The case was the same for the Title Company, Pizza Inn game, with each team being given a loss.
Walker and Stevens remained tied for the lead in the National Division of the league when both won their games.
Walker held off previously unbeaten Dr. Schwartz 4-2 and Stevens got past Sanyo 12-4.
And the final contest of the night between Forrest City Bank and Food Giant, was suspended after three innings and the game tied at 8-8.
With Forrest City Bank leading 8-3 going into the bottom of the third, Food Giant scored its first four batters of the inning to cut FCity Bank's lead to 8-7.
Food Giant managed to get the tying run across before the third out of the inning was recorded
"Time had expired and it was beginning to rain a little," said Forrest City Recreation Director Kenneth Taylor. "That's why the umpires stopped the game. It wasn't called an official game. Play was just suspended. Both FCity Bank and Food Giant are in the American side of the league and the game was important for each team."
Forrest City Bank entered the game at 2-0 while Food Giant came in at 1-1. A Food Giant victory will put them in a three-way tie for first place with FCity Bank and Dr. Schwartz.
A win for Forrest City Bank will give the team sole possession of first place.
"We will continue the game Friday night from the point where it was called," Taylor ruled Wednesday morning. "We will begin in the top of the fourth inning with the score tied at 8-8."
Taylor said the two teams will finish the game Friday, at 8 p.m.
Food Giant will play Walker Insurance, Friday at 7 p.m., while FCity Bank will take on Schwartz prior to competing the suspended game.
Walker moved to 3-0 for the year and got two runs from Shaquita Loney in their 4-2 win Tuesday. TeJarra McClinic and Ebony Davis added single runs.
Brittney Tracy and Andrea scored single runs for Schwartz.
Kaitlyn Peterson and Kelsey Ferguson each scored three times to lead Stevens past Sanyo.
