Mr. John E. Oskowis, age 87, of New Mexico, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Oskowis, formerly of Forrest City, was born Dec. 5, 1915, in Philadelphia, Penn. He was a resident of Forrest City from 1957 until 2002, and was employed by Eaton, Yale and Towne for over 52 years. Mr. Oskowis was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
In 1939, Mr. Oskowis married Catherine Foley, and she preceded him in death in 2002. He is survived by two sons, John S. Oskowis and James Oskowis; one daughter, Judith Shirley; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Stephen and Lucas Oskowis.
Visitation for Mr. Oskowis will be held on Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, with burial following in Forrest Park Cemetery.
