Mr. Hosea Burgess, age 69, of Widener, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.
Mr. Burgess, born May 5, 1934, in Round Pound, the son of Anderson Burgess and Bessie King Burgess. Mr. Burgess, a farmer, is survived by his wife, Vera Hudson Burgess of Widener, three daughters, Regina Williams, Jacqueline Burgess and Crystal Burgess, all of Forrest City; seven sons, Larry Hudson of Little Rock, Anderson Burgess and Rodney Burgess, both of Widener, Terrance Burgess of Madison, Jerry Burgess and Keith Burgess, both of Forrest City, Curtis Burgess of Tucson, Ariz.; four sisters, Mary Lanis and Fannie Wesson both of Rochester, N.Y., Nancy Hudson of East St. Louis, Mo., Bessie McKinnis of Chicago, Ill.; five brothers, Amos Burgess of Round Pond, Charlie Burgess, Joe Lee Burgess and Huntley Burgess all of St. Louis, Mo., and Samuel Burgess of Little Rock; 25 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
Visitation for Mr. Burgess will be held on Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, from noon to 5 p.m. at Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at noon at Riverside M.B. Church with Rev. Mark Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Scott Bond Cemetery in Madison.
