Mr. Theophilus "Buster" Hardrick, age 76, of Gary, Indiana, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at Methodist Hospital Northlake.
Mr. Hardrick, formerly of Forrest City, was born May 20, 1927, the son of Obray and Lucinda Hardrick. He is survived by his wife, Odessa Hardrick of Gary, Ind.; seven daughters, Lorine Hardrick, Lovie Hardrick, Patricia Hardrick and Josephine Elllis, all of Forrest City, Theadess Branch of Glenwood, Ill., Linda Jordan of Jacksonville and Lubertha Smith of Chicago, Ill.; three sons, Robert Hardrick of Vista, Calif., Essie Hardrick of Forrest City and Bobby Hardrick of Madison; 37 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Earl Hardrick; two sisters Novella Dukes and Wilma Jean Bender; and a son, Booker T. Holmes.
Funeral services for Mr. Hardrick were held on Thursday, Oct.
30, 2003, at St. John Baptist Church in Gary, Ind., with Rev.
Raymond McDonald officiating. Burial followed in Fern Oaks Cemetery
in Griffith, Ind.
Mr. Selmer George Stegall, age 87, of Forrest City, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at Crestpark Retirement Inn and Residential Care in Forrest City.
Mr. Stegall was born May 24, 1916, in Red Bay, Ala., the son of Finus Stegall and Rebecca Stegall. He was a retired farmer and is survived by his wife, Savannah Stegall of Forrest City; a son, Dennis Stegall of Carol Stream, Ill.; three daughters, Pearletha Thomas of Memphis, Pearlene Wordlaw of Maywood, Ill., and Oleeyer Haskin of Westchester, Ill.; two sisters, Annie Mae Stegall and Ezra Stegall, both of Forrest City; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Stegall will be held on Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Chapel of Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Dozier officiating. Burial will follow in New Sardis Cemetery.
