Mr. Sherril Elvis Lee, age 75, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, at Crestpark Retirement Inn in Forrest City.
Mr. Lee was born on Oct. 20, 1927, in Pumpkin Bend, the son of Robert E. and Beulah Shue Lee. He was a self-employed siding applicator and a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church.
Mr. Lee is survived by his wife, Iliene Lee of the home; two sons, Robert Lee and Bubba Lee, both of Oklahoma; four daughters, Paula Matthews and Sherril Blair both of Oklahoma, Shelly Phillips of Colorado and Glendella Smith of Illinois; a brother, Reginald Lee of Wynne; one sister, Jasman Collins of California; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Lee in 1993; a brother, Hershel Lee in 1979; and two sisters, Barbara Ann Dickerson in 1992 and Irene Lee in 1998.
A memorial service for Mr. Lee will be held Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at 10 a.m., at the Fakes Cemetery in McCrory with Bro. Charles W. Jones and Bro. Clay Hughes officiating. Morgan Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Mrs. Almae Lucas, age 67, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, in Dallas, Texas.
Mrs. Lucas is survived by her husband, Acie Lucas Sr., of Forrest City; five daughters, Shelia Lucas-Brooks, Bridgette Lucas-Jett, Alamaria Lucas, Ressie Lucas-Moore and Lita Lucas all of Dallas, Texas; two sons, Bobby Lucas and Rickey Lucas, both of Memphis. She is also survived by three sisters, Deloris Smith, Rosie Mae Dale and Wadie Tittle, all of Forrest City; five brothers, Edgar Brooks of Memphis, O.D. Brooks of Dallas, and James Brooks Jr., Elmer Brooks and Leon Brooks, all of Forrest City; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Lucas will be held on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rising Sun M.B. Church. Funeral services will follow at the church at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Clayhill Cemetery. The J.E. Kennedy Funeral Home of Marianna is in charge of all arrangements.
