Mamie Green

Mrs. Mamie Green, age 41, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, in Colorado.

Mrs. Green, the daughter of John Willis and Octavia Willis of Forrest City, was born Oct. 28, 1961, in Forrest City. She was a truck driver and is survived by her husband, T.L. Green of Forrest City; a son, Rickey Logan of Forrest City; a daughter, Ebony Logan of Forrest City; her parents; five brothers, Oliver Ward of Toledo, Ohio, John Willis Jr. and Robert Willis, both of Chicago, Ill., Eugene Willis of Galesburg, Ill., Albert Willis of Peoria, Ill.; three sisters, Olivia Jones and Otivia Livingston, both of Toledo, Ohio, and Amie Willis of Forrest City and one grandchild.

Visitation services for Mrs. Green will be held Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Chapel of Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at 1 p.m., at Riverside Baptist Church with Rev. Albert Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest City Cemetery.


Margorie Pauline Morris

Mrs. Marjorie Pauline Morris, age 88, of Forrest City, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at Crestpark Retirement Inn in Forrest City.

Mrs. Morris, born Nov. 12, 1914, in Rison, was the daughter of Jasper Sherman Roberts and Ruth Emaline Nutt. She was a retired teacher with the Palestine School District and was a member of the Church of Christ in Palestine.

Mrs. Morris is survived by one son, Randy Daily of Westminster, Md.; two daughters, Marjorie Williams of Forrest City and Elizabeth Clunga of Texas; one brother, Sherman Roberts of Memphis; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Morris in 1992.

Visitation for Mrs. Morris will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Morgan Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Morgan Chapel with burial following in Bell Cemetery.


Albert Grady Thurmond

Mr. Albert Grady Thurmond, age 70, of Colt, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, at his home.

Mr. Thurmond was born July 6, 1933, in Des Arc, the daughter of George Mallory and Ruth Bernice Nesbitt Thurmond. He was a retired machinist for Hoist Manufacturing and served in the United States Army during World War II.

Mr. Thurmond is survived by two sons, William Earl Thurmond of Wyoming and Charles Martin Thurmond of Forrest City; his mother, of Wyoming, a brother, George A. Thurmond of Forrest City and three sisters, R. Christine Irby of Nevada, C. Dean Birch of Russellville and Margaret Andrews of Wyoming.

Graveside services for Mr. Thurmond were held on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, at 2 p.m., in Bell Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
