Ms. Patricia L. "Pat" Shumard Holland, age 57, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, after an 18 year battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Ms. Holland was born Jan. 1, 1946, in Stuttgart, the daughter of Lloyd and Helen Shumard, was a 1964 graduate of Wynne High School and was retired from Sanyo Manufacturing. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.
Ms. Holland is survived by her parents of Forrest City; a son, Mark Holland of McCrory; a daughter, Tracey Holland Teal of Forrest City; a brother, Keith Shumard of Paragould; four grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Visitation for Ms. Holland will be held on Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Forrest City. Burial will follow in Cogbill Cemetery in Wynne.

Mr. Preston Herbert Lynch Jr., age 63, of Oakland, Calif., died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at Highland Hospital.
Mr. Lynch, born Sept. 17, 1940, in Forrest City, was the son of Preston Herbert Lynch Sr. and Willie Ivory Williford Lynch. He is survived by a daughter, Kathy L. Martin of Oakland, Calif.; three sons, Preston H. Lynch III, Anthony Lynch and Jason Lynch, all of Oakland, Calif.; five sisters Clarine Boone and Levertha Siler, both of Porcelain, Va., Ivory J. Henderson and Renee Ward, both of Forrest City, and Nattie Spencer of St. Louis, Mo.; three brothers, Amos O. Lynch of Albion, N.Y., McAurthur Lynch of Little Rock and Frederick Lynch of Forrest City; his step-mother, Lillie Lynch of Forrest City; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation for Mr. Lynch will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Prosperity M.B. Church with Dr. James Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.
