Larry Wayne Murray

Mr. Larry Wayne Murray, age 58, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro.

Mr. Murray was born Jan. 11, 1945, in Warren. He was the son of Wallace Murray and Noval Halligan Murray and made his home in Forrest City for the past eight years. He was a construction worker and attended Oak Hill Church of God.

In 1995, Mr. Murray married Judy Bounds and she survives him along with one son, Jason Murray of Pine Bluff; two step-daughters, Margo McElroy and Leslye Laws, both of Forrest City; a step-son, Andy Lieblong of Forrest City; one sister, Wanda Schneider of Stayton, Ore.; and five grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Murray will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Church of God with Rev. William Witcher officiating. Burial will follow at Barnishaw Cemetery.


William J. "Bill" Poland

Mr. William J. "Bill" Poland, age 82, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at his home.

Mr. Poland, born Dec. 27, 1920, in Mississippi, was the son of J.W. Poland and Ila Jackson Robinson. He was a retired businessman and a Baptist.

Mr. Poland married Myrtle Rice and she preceded him in death in 1993. He is survived by three sons, William J. Poland Jr., and Larry Poland, both of Alaska and Jerry Poland of Memphis; one sister, Nell Peterson of Mississippi and several grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Poland will be held Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery.


Willie Mae Riggins

Mrs. Willie Mae Riggins, age 78, of Heth, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

Mrs. Riggins is survived by a daughter, Mary Lee Smith of Heth; a son, Willie Smith of Madison; a step-son, Mack Riggins of Chicago, Ill.; two step-daughters, Juliette Ingram and Bobbie Lacore both of Huntsville, Ala.; a sister, Florence Manning of St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at 12 p.m. at the Friendship M.B. Church in Heth. Burial will follow in Paradise Garden. Anthony Funeral Home of West Memphis is in charge of all arrangements.


William G. Womack

Mr. William G. Womack, age 76, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, at his home.

Mr. Womack was born Aug. 18, 1927, in Ashport, Tenn., the son of Calvin Luther and Rosa Johnson Womack. He was a mechanic and a Baptist.

Mr. Womack is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Womack of the home; two sons, William Womack Jr. of New Jersey and Kenny Womack of North Carolina; five daughters, Shelia Allard, Kathleen Womack, Erin Ginge, Shannon Clark and Colleen Womack, all of New Jersey; two brothers, Robert Womack of New Jersey and Claude Womack of Horseshoe Lake; three sisters, Francis Womack, Betty Yount, both of Arlington, Tenn. and Margaret McCoughlin of Ripley, Tenn. and several grandchildren.

Graveside services for Mr. Womack will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Bell Cemetery in Palestine with Bro. Dustin Lemke officiating. Morgan Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
