Mamie L. Coleman

Mrs. Mamie L. Coleman, age 72, of Widener, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.

Mrs. Coleman, the daughter of Dyke and Ona Baldwin, was born in Levesque, was a homemaker and a life long member of Widener Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Billy Coleman Sr., of Widener; a daughter, Rosetta Stevens of Forrest City; a son, Billy Coleman Jr., of Widener; three sisters, Charlene Melton of Parkin, Betty Ware of Mena and Rosie Elkins of North Little Rock; four brothers, Richard Baldwin of Parkin, Bill Baldwin of Lubbock, Texas and D.A. Baldwin and Donald Baldwin, both of Little Rock, and five grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Coleman will be held on Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home with burial following in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.


Bobbie J. Gillison

Mrs. Bobbie J. Gillison, age 70, of Pocahontas, Ill., died on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at Anna Henry Nursing Home in Edwardsville, Illinois.

Mrs. Gillison, the daughter of Walter and Jimel French Simmons, was born June 21, 1933, in Forrest City. She is survived by her husband, Harold T. Gillison of Pocahontas, Ill.; two sons, Harold G. Gillison of Springfield, Mo., and Terry Plocher of Highland, Ill.; two daughters, Brenda McIlroy and Judy Watkins, both of Granite City, Ill.; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gillison was preceded in death by a brother, James Simmons; a sister, Maxine Harris and two grandsons.

Visitation for Mrs. Gillison will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary in Fairview Heights, Illinois. Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at 1 p.m. at Salem Cemetery in Salem.


Tonya Moore

Mrs. Tonya Moore, age 32, of Forrest City, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at Methodist Hospital in Germantown, Tenn.

Mrs. Moore, born Nov. 18, 1970, in Louisville, Ken., was the daughter of Jack Chapman and Lucille Kennedy Baker. She was a nurse for the East Arkansas Regional Unit of the Department of Corrections at Brickeys and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Forrest City.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband, Ronnie Moore; a son, Holden Rains; a daughter, Rebekah Moore; her father, Jack Chapman of Orlando, Fla.; her mother, Lucille Baker of Forrest City and her step-father, Dana Baker of Forrest City.

Visitation for Mrs. Moore will be held on Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at 2 p.m., at Good Hope Baptist Church with Bro. Clayton Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Hughes Cemetery under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.


Harvey Lee Smith

Rev. Harvey Lee Smith, age 60, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at Methodist Hospital Central, in Memphis.

Rev. Smith, a carpenter, is survived by his wife, Joanne Smith, of Forrest City; four daughters, Monecia Smith of Kansas City, Mo., Kelli Smith of Italy, Latasha White of Little Rock and Anquenell White of Forrest City; four sons, Anthony Smith of Independence, Mo., Michael Smith of Europe, Timothy White of Little Rock and Tylar White of Forrest City. He is also survived by five sisters, Pearlie Spearman and Barbara Livingston, both of Kansas City, Mo., Rozenna Smith of Hot Springs, and Annette Smith Jones and Mary Smith Lockard, both of Little Rock; eight brothers, Harold Smith, Larry Smith, Commy Smith and David Smith, all of Little Rock, Raymond Smith of Detroit, Mich., Clarence Smith of Dallas, Texas, Mitchell Smith of Houston, Texas, and Samuel Smith of Chicago, Ill., and two grandchildren.

Visitation for Rev. Smith will be held on Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shady Grove M.B. Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at Shady Grove M.B. Church, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home.


Jack W. Vance

Mr. Jack W. Vance, age 91, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003.

Mr. Vance, born June 9, 1912, in Slate Springs, Miss., was the son of John Glenn Vance and Addie Wells Vance. He was a television repairman, a farmer and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Vance was also a World War II veteran.

Mr. Vance was preceded in death by his wife Dot, in 1998 and is survived by a son, Jack Wayne Vance Jr., of Forrest City; a sister, Pauline Wilkie of Forrest City and two grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Vance will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at 10 a.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Rev. Leon Wilson. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
