Janie Sue Brown

Mrs. Janie Sue Brown, age 36, of Heber Springs, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, at her home.

Mrs. Brown was born on Jan. 31, 1967, in Forrest City, the daughter of Wanda Vick Black and Bill Vick. She was a former resident of Forrest City and had lived in Heber Springs for seven years. She was employed by Wal-Mart and was a member of the Sugar Loaf Baptist Church.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, Matthew H. Brown of Heber Springs; two daughters, Lisa Marie Donahou and Stevie Raeann Brown both of Heber Springs; her mother of Dardanelle; three brothers, Glen Vick and Tony Vick both of Dardanelle and Danny Vick of West Memphis; four sisters, Patricia Chenney and Janice Holeman both of Forrest City, and Jo Ann Templeman and Brenda McPherson both of Dardanelle and several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father.

Visitation services for Mrs. Brown were held on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, and a second services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at the Olmstead Funeral Home in Heber Springs. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the Sugar Loaf Baptist Church with Rev. Lloyd Blanton officiating. Burial will follow in Heber Springs Cemetery.


Mary Faith Strode

Ms. Mary Faith Strode, age 52, of Romance and formerly of Forrest City, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock.

Ms. Strode was born Dec. 18, 1950, in Forrest City, the daughter of Marvin Thomas Boyce and Mary Edna Martin Boyce. She lived in the Forrest City area most of her life until moving to Romance and was a homemaker.

Ms. Stode is survived by two daughters, Regina Swint of Mt. Vernon and Vanessa Wire of Concord; a brother, Kenneth Cole of Thomasville, N.C.; and five grandchildren.

Visitation for Ms. Strode will be held on Thursday evening at Stevens Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, at 10 a.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery.
