Mrs. Lula Belle Buford, age 72, of Forrest City, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.
Mrs. Buford, born Sept. 14, 1930, in Calhoun City, Miss., was the daughter of Dr. George T. McPhail and Hattie Wall McPhail. She was a long time resident of Forrest City, a graduate of Memphis State University and was a retired employee of the Forrest City School District. She was also a member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School.
Mrs. Buford is survived by one son, John Buford of Sherwood; her mother, of Calhoun City, Miss.; a sister, Francis McPhail of Calhoun City, and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Buford in 1990.
Visitation for Mrs. Buford will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Buford will be held Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, at 1 p.m. at McPhail Cemetery in Calhoun City.
Mr. Paul Oscar Hendrickson, age 41, of Colt, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mr. Hendrickson was born Nov. 20, 1961, in Massachusetts, the son of Norman Hogenson and Mary Sloanwhite Hodgeson. He had lived in St. Francis County for the past year and a half, was manager of Triple A Rental, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a member of the Widener Baptist Church.
Mr. Hendrickson married Darla Morlock in 2002, and she survives him along with two daughters, Nicole Hendrickson and Jessica Hendrickson both of Arizona; a step-daughter, Troy Strope of Forrest City; and a step-son, Roy Strope of Colt. He is also survived by his parents; five brothers, John, Bill, Mike, Normy and James; a sister, Shirley; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Hendrickson will be held on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home.
