Mrs. Beverly Ann Neal Floyd, age 50, of Forrest City, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, at Methodist Hospital Central in Memphis.
Mrs. Floyd was born Aug. 17, 1953, in Fitzhugh, the daughter of Anderson Neal Sr. and Theressa Gant Neal. She was a teacher in the Hughes, DeValls Bluff, Cotton Plant and Brinkley school systems and was a graduate of the University of Arkansas. She also received a Bachelor of Arts degree in special educaton from the University of Arkansas. Mrs. Floyd was a member of Beth Salem Baptist Church.
Mrs. Floyd is survived by her husband of 24 years, Stanley Floyd Sr. of Forrest City; a son, Stanley Floyd Jr.; one daughter, Katrina Floyd of Forrest City; her mother of Augusta; five brothers, Anderson Neal Jr. of Texarkana, Arthur Neal of Little Rock, Fernell Neal of Pine Bluff, and Gerald Neal and Steven Neal both of Memphis. She is also survived by five sisters, Lavern Smith of Chicago, Ill., Arlene Maxwell and Vera Dockery both of Memphis, Elsie Chestnut and Dorothy Neal both of Augusta and several other relatives and friends.
A wake will be held for Mrs. Floyd on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003,
from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 701 North 9th street in Augusta. Funeral
services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at 1 p.m.
at Beth Salem Baptist Church in Forrest City with Rev. Vernon
Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow at New Quiet Cemetery
in Augusta. Branscumb, Johnson and Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley
is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Harvey L. Jones, age 74, of Forrest City, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at Wynwood Nursing Center in Wynne.
Mr. Jones, born April 24, 1929, was a retired barber and a veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Bettye Jones of Forrest City; two daughters, Fannie Yvonne Ross of Sherwood and Anita Angeletti Junior of Little Rock, and two grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Jones will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at 1 p.m. at Beth Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest City Cemetery.
