Mrs. Mary Ruth Dunavan, age 64, of Marion, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.
Mrs. Dunavan was a factory assembly line worker for Sanyo and a Baptist. She is survived by her husband, Phil Dunavan of Marion; two daughters, Dianne Sorrels of Northbend, Ohio and Evonne Johnson of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sons, Leon Sorrels Jr. of Wynne and Ricky Sorrels of Marion; a step-son, Mark Dunavan of Marion; a sister Oleane Reece of Jonesboro; three brothers, Charles Harris of Arkansas, Horace Harris of Modesto, Calif. and Gene Harris of Benton; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Dunavan will be held on Thursday, Sept.
25, 2003, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in
West Memphis. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 26,
2003, at 10 a.m. at Marion First Baptist Church. Burial will follow
in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.
Mrs. Mary L. Featherstone, age 74, of Heth, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at Cross Ridge Community Hospital in Wynne.
Mrs. Featherstone was a longtime employee of the Hughes Public School System as a teacher's aide and secretary. She a member of the Pilgrim Rest Christian Church Senior Citizen Group, the Community Missionary Society and Friendship Mother Board.
Mrs. Featherstone is survived by her husband, Willie Featherstone Sr. of Heth; two daughters, Gwendolyn Bunch of Jacksonville and Shirley Featherstone of Heth; seven sons, Willie Featherstone Jr. of Monroe, N.C., Eugene Featherstone of Aurora, Colo., Freddie L. Featherstone of Detroit, Mich., David Featherstone and Larry Featherstone both of Little Rock, Jerry Featherstone of Mitchellville, Md., and Stanley Featherstone of Bowie, Md.; three step-sons Willie Lee Featherstone and Calvin Shepperd both of St. Louis, Mo., and Eddie Featherstone of Cleveland, Ohio; a step-daughter, Lillie Hatley of St. Louis, Mo.; three sisters, Laura Booker of Memphis, Vera Taylor of Denver, Colo. and Remell Sorrells of Chicatoquga, Tenn.; a brother, Willie Lane Jr. of Memphis; 33 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Featherstone will be held on Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Anthony Funeral Home Chapel South and on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Friendship M.B. Church in Shell Lake. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial services will be held in Paradise Garden Cemetery.
