Cory Embry scored three rushing touchdowns and Preston Echols caught a touchdown pass Monday as the Forrest City JV Mustangs defeated Wynne's JV 30-24 at Yellowjacket Stadium.

Embry's first touchdown came with 7:52 to play in the opening quarter. Sophomore quarterback Marcus Fair tossed the two-point pass to Echols for an 8-0 lead.

Wynne answered with 3:39 to play in the first on a long touchdown passed and then added the two-point conversion to tie the game at 8-8.

Echols caught the go-ahead scoring pass from Fair at the buzzer to put Forrest City back in front 14-8 after the conversion attempt failed.

There wasn't a Wynne defender within 20 yards of Echols.

Embry made it 22-8 with a touchdown run early in the second quarter and then added the two-point play.

Wynne crept closer late in the second using a 10-yard touchdown run to cut the Mustang lead to 22-16.

Embry answered once more just before the half on a long touchdown run and the two-point conversion made it 30-16 at the half.

The Yellowjackets scored once more late in the third to make the final.

The JV Mustangs will host Brinkley on Monday, Sept. 15.
