Robert L. McShan Sr.

Mr. Robert L. McShan Sr., age 79, of Round Pond, died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at Delta Medical Center in Memphis.

Mr. McShan was a veteran of World War II, a Mason and a member of the Widener Grove M.B. Church, where he served as a deacon and trustee.

Mr. McShan is survived by four sons, Robert L. McShan Jr. and Terry McShan both of Berkley, Mo., Paul McShan of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Ronnie McShan of Widener; six daughters, Joann Lyles of Houston, Texas, Annette Thompson of Widener, Bernice Miranda of Harbor City, Calif., Brenda Moore of Kansas City, Kan., Vickie Evans of Jonesboro and Gerry Gean McShan of West Memphis; three sisters, Henretta Wells of Detroit, Mich., Margaret Hitaphat of Milwalkee, Wis. and Dessie Bobo of Widener; 31 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. McShan will be held on Sunday, April 4, 2004, from 3 to 6 p.m., in the Chapel of Woodard Funeral Services in Wynne. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 5, 2004, at 1 p.m. at the Church of God of Forrest City, with Rev. Eddie Mosley officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Gardens in Edmonson.


Lowell E. Walker

Mr. Lowell E. Walker, age 91, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at his home in Forrest City.

Mr. Walker was born March 4, 1913, in Brownwood, Mo., the son of Arthur L. Walker and Wellie Horrell Walker. He lived in Forrest City for most of his life and was a retired grocery store manager, a veteran of World War II, a member and past secretary-treasurer of the Kiwanis Club and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Forrest City.

Mr. Walker married Eleanor Hamrick in 1941, and she preceded him in death in 1993. He is survived by a son, Don Walker of Gilbert, Ariz.; three sisters, Nona Ashby of Little Rock, Vivian Glad of Milwaukee, Wis. and Weba Walker of Forrest City; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Walker were held Thursday, April 1, 2004, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery.
