Ruby Mae Cothran

Mrs. Ruby Mae Cothran, age 79, of Caldwell, died Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

Mrs. Cothran, born Dec. 5, 1924, in Parkin, was the daughter of Darsey Thomas and Elmer Sanders Thomas. She is survived by her husband, Lionell Cothran of Caldwell; two daughters, Ruby Marie Thomas and Teiona Cothran, both of Kansas City, Mo.; a son, Michael Cothran of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Earnestine Mitchell of Toledo, Ohio, and six grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Cothran will be held on Friday, April 30, 2004, from noon to 5 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. A wake will also be held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Moriah M.B. Church with Rev. Connie Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Stanley Grove Cemetery.


James William Kennedy

Mr. James William Kennedy, age 61, of Odessa, Mo., died Monday, April 26, 2004, at his home.

Mr. Kennedy, born March 18, 1943, in Mississippi, was the son of Sydney Cecil Kennedy and Dora Wilemon Kennedy. He lived in Forrest City prior to moving to Odessa and was a farmer.

Mr. Kennedy is survived by a son, Troy Kennedy of Florida; three daughers, Carla and Lisa, both of Indiana and Brenda of Tennessee; two brothers, Doyle Kennedy of Indiana and James Aaron Kennedy of Louisiana; four sisters, Oma Walters of Mississippi, Christine Hankins of Florida, Mary Sutton of Forrest City and Ann McDonald of Carlisle; and 17 grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Kennedy will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, April 30, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Hughes Cemetery.
