Robert L. Cotton Jr.

Mr. Robert L. Cotton Jr., age 76, of Forrest City, died Friday, April 2, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

Mr. Cotton was born June 8, 1927, in Palestine, the parents of Robert and Susie Cotton. He was an employee of Goodyear in Forrest City for many years.

Mr. Cotton is survived by his wife, Alice Cotton of Forrest City; two sons, J.D. Jones of Palestine and L.S. Cotton of Little Rock; five daughters, Izola Moody of Colorado Springs, Colo., Geraldine Hancock of Goodwin, Vera Hill and Clara Green both of Palestine and Orlee Taylor of Little Rock; six brothers, Zebie D. Cotton of Los Angeles, Calif.., Willie B. Cotton and James Cotton both of Cleveland, Ohio, Ezell Cotton of Wheatley, D.D. Cotton of Clermont, Fla., and Samuel Cotton of Memphis; three sisters, Allie V. Gordon and Cassie Lee Cotton both of Cleveland, Ohio, Lillie Mae Howard of Memphis and a step-sister, Lillie Green of Forrest City. He was preceded in by his first wife Susie McDaniel.

Funeral services for Mr. Cotton will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2004, at 11 a.m., at the Spring Grove Baptist Church in Haynes. Burial will follow in Paradise Gardens under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home.


Kathryn Jewelldean Wingo

Mrs. Kathryn Jewelldean Wingo, age 78, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

Mrs. Wingo was born Dec. 6, 1925, in Goodwin, the daughter of John Smith and Lucy French Smith. She was retired from General Industries and was a Baptist.

Mrs. Wingo is survived by a son, Charles Wingo of Oxford, Miss.; a daughter, Sue Wingo Bivins of Iuka, Miss.; a brother. R.C. Smith of Springfield, Ill.; two sisters, Irene Fishburn of Forrest City and Shirley Newton of Tampa, Fla.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Wingo will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 9, 2004, at 2 p.m., at Salem Cemetery in Palestine with Bro. Anthony Kennedy officiating.
