Dalton Gene Weeks Sr.

Mr. Dalton Gene Weeks Sr., age 67, of Palestine, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

Mr. Weeks was born Sept. 15, 1936, in Winfield, Ala., the son of Alton Weeks and Lillie Keenum Weeks. He lived in Palestine for the past 40 years, was a farmer, a Baptist and served in the United States Army for four years.

Mr. Weeks married Barbara Evans in 1962 and she survives him along with three sons, Dalton Gene Weeks Jr. of Palestine, John William Weeks of Forrest City and Dewayne Weeks of Pocahontas; a daughter, Michelle Weeks Williamson of Marion; three sisters, Dean Holt, Rachel Littlefield and Faye Bridges all of Palestine. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Weeks will be held on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at Stevens Funeral Home, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, at 10 a.m., in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bell Cemetery.


Leroy "Buddy" Williams

Mr. Leroy "Buddy" Williams, age 88, of St. Louis, Mo. and formerly of Forrest City, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, at Missouri Baptist Hospital.

Mr. Williams was born Jan. 13, 1916, in Madison, the son of Walter Williams and Mattie Smith Williams. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Mercy Williams of St. Louis, Mo.; a son, Rickey Maclin Williams of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Vickey Maclin Williams of Chicago, Ill. and Debra Maclin Williams of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Barbara Gray Tubbs of Forrest City; seven grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be held on Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, at 11 a.m., at the First Baptist Church in St. Louis, Mo. with Rev. John Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Barracks Veteran Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo. The William James Funeral Home of St. Louis, Mo. is in charge of all arrangements.
