Cora B. Melton

Mrs. Cora B. Melton, age 83, of Cotton Plant, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at the White County Medical Center in Searcy.

Mrs. Melton was born Aug. 5, 1921, in Forrest City. She was a retired dietitian for the Geriatrics Nursing Home, lived in Forrest City for most of her life and was a Baptist.

Mrs. Melton married Paul Raymond Melton in 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1992. She is survived by two sons, Raymond Melton and Donald Melton both of Cotton Plant; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Melton will be held on Thursday and Friday evenings at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held graveside on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at 10 a.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery.


Carol J. McCleskey Montoya

Mrs. Carol J. McCleskey Montoya, age 83, of Marion, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.

Mrs. Montoya was born June 12, 1921, in Iowa, the daughter of William Keitzer and Nellie Patterson Keitzer. She made her home in the Forrest City, West Memphis and Marion areas for most of her life. She was a nurse at Forrest Memorial Hospital, a Methodist and a member of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Montoya married Guy Vassar McCleskey Jr. in 1944 and he preceded her in death in 1961. She then married Henry Montoya in 1971 and he preceded her in death in 1998. She is survived by two sons, Guy Vassar McCleskey III of Marion and Jerry Lee McCleskey of Clearwater, Fla.; a brother, Arlo Keitzer of Evergreen, Colo.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Montoya will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. David Moose officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery.
