Mr. Bruce Burks, age 51, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at Salem M.B. Church.
Mr. Burks was born Nov. 13, 1953, in Stuttgart. He was a welder at Forrest City Machine Shop. He is survived by his wife, Pearlie Mae Burks of Forrest City; three brothers, William Burks of Hawaii, Charlie Burks of Gary, Ind. and Norman Burks of Magnolia and two sisters, Shirley Burks of Gary, Ind. and Florida Coleman of Forrest City.
Funeral services for Mr. Burks will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at Clay Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Hines officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.
Mr. George Washington, age 43, of Madison, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mr. Washington was born Dec. 1, 1960, in Caruthersville, Mo. He was a farmer and a veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Otivia Washington of Madison; his father, J.W. Washington of Crow Creek; six brothers, Johnny Jones and Robert Washington both of Forrest City, Freddie Jones of Memphis, J.W. Washington Jr. of Madison, Eddie Washington of Osceola and William Washington of Crow Creek. He is also survived by six sisters, Mable Nelson and Willeen Jones both of Hayti, Mo., Mamie Beal and Martha Washington both of Widener and Lula Washington and Juanita Hunt both of Jonesboro.
Funeral services for Mr. Washington were held on Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at 2 p.m., at the Riverside Baptist Church with Rev. Marland Brown officiating. Burial followed in Scott Bond Cemetery. Clay Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
