Rev. Sammie Earl Sinclair Sr., age 37, of Colt, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at his home.
Rev. Sinclair was born July 8, 1967, in Widener, the son of Wash Sinclair II and Berthinea Jones Sinclair. He was a 1985 graduate of Forrest City High School and United States Naval Veteran. He attended East Arkansas Community College, served as volunteer chaplain at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City from 2002 to 2003. He was also a substitute teacher in the Forrest City School District and worked at the Cyber Café and was a case worker for the Community Development Corporation for St. Francis County.
Rev. Sinclair is survived by his mother of Madison; his father of Florida; one daughter, Angelica Sinclair of Forrest City; five sons, DeMarcus Sinclair, Dominique Sinclair, Samuel E. Sinclair, Jimmy Sinclair all of Forrest City and Gary Hughes of Georgia. He is also survived by two sisters, Christine Anderson of Forrest City, JoAnn Kimble of Cedar Hill, Texas; four brothers, Robert Jones of Forrest City, Jimmy Ross of Bartlett, Texas, Wash Sinclair III and Eddie Lee both of Dallas, Texas.
A wake for Rev. Sinclair will be held on Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at 1 p.m., at the Beth Salem M.B. Church with Rev. Lonzo Gatling officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.
Larry Lafayette Wigginton, 79, of McComb, Mississippi, died
Nov. 20, 2004, at McComb Extended Care.
Mr. Wigginton was born Oct. 7, 1925, in Booneville to Larry
Matthew Wigginton and Lena Hill Wigginton of Tishomingo County.
He was a resident of Forrest City from 1949 to 1988. He was
retired from Arkansas Power and Light Co. with 3712 years service.
He also was a former insurance salesman for Catchings Funeral
Home inMcComb. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served
two years in the South Pacific on the USS Hollandia GVE 97, an
air craft carrier. He was a member of the American Legion and
the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a founding member of Emmanuel
Baptist Church in Forrest City. He was an active member of East
McComb Baptist Church until his health failed. He was involved
in the church building ministry and was a Gideon. He was a deacon
and had served as chairman of the deacons' board twice. He was
very active in the visitation program and his family said that
had led many souls to Christ. He also was assistant Sunday school
teacher in his class.
His family said he was a very loving father and grandfather.
Mr. Wigginton was preceded in death by his parents; his first
wife, Annie Gray Smith Wigginton; three brothers, James, Clint
and R.C. Wigginton; and two sisters, Lucy and Louise Wigginton.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Marvel Taylor Wigginton
of McComb; son, Robert E. Wigginton and wife Sandra of Forrest
City, AR; daughter, Shara and husband Jeff Holt of St. Augustine,
FL; grandson, Kerry Wigginton and his wife Caroline of Austin,
Texas; a granddaughter, Kristi Kelley and her husband Scott of
Lincoln Park, Minn.; a stepson Johnny Taylor and wife Janet of
Brandon; a stepdaughter, Grace Ann Taylor Elam and her husband
Bob of Huntsville, AL; two stepgrandsons, David Chapple and wife
Margot of Austin and Rob Elam and wife Cyndi of Birmingham, Ala.;
three stepgranddaughters, Paige Taylor of Oxford, Kristi Severson
and husband Jon of Houston, Texas, Michelle Phillips and husband
Jeff of Flint, Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Madison Kelley,
Luke Wigginton, Aven and Cason Severson, Anna and Claire Phillips
and Alex and Zack Elam; three sisters, Bonnie Skelton of Corinth,
Margle Leathers of Saltillo and Dorothy Mason of Southaven; and
a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
