Mrs. Lizzie L. Hill, age 73, of Madison, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City. Mrs. Hill was born June 28, 1931, in Madison and was a self employed beautician.
Mrs. Hill is survived by a son, Reginald Hill of Giessien, Germany; a daughter, Deborah Pye of Minneapolis, Minn.; two brothers, Otis Pye of Gary Ind. and Elven Pye of New London, Conn.; two sisters, Hazel Weatherall of Milwaukee, Wis. and Geraldine Odum of Madison; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Hill will be held on Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the St. John M.B. Church. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
Mr. Gary Franklin "Pete" Wall Sr., age 63, of Forrest
City, Arkansas, died at the Baptist Hospital in Forrest City.
Mr. Wall was born November 7, 1941, in Forrest City. He was
the son of Forest Elton Wall and Mattie Lee Lemons Wall. He was
a member of Village Creek Baptist Church and had served in Vietnam.
Mr. Wall is survived by three daughters, Lisa Nichols of Forrest
City, Teresa Lee of Wynne and Dawn Callahan of Forrest City; two
sons, Tommy Talley of Forrest City and Gary Wall Jr. of Melbourne,
Arkansas. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and four great
grandsons.
When I was young I thought my Dad was hard on us Kids, but
now that I'm grown I realize that the world needs a lot more Dads
like him. He raised five very hard working children.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements handled by Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Margie Russell Whittenton, age 72, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at her home.
Mrs. Whittenton was born Nov. 4, 1932, in Memphis, the daughter of Russell Williams and Sadie Borden Williams. She lived in Forrest City for all of her life, worked for First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas for 25 years and was a member of Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church.
In 1954, Mrs. Whittenton married Raiford Whittenton and he survives her along with three daughters, Lyn Woods of Camden, Margie France of Little Rock and Laurie Stapleton of Seattle, Wash.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Whittenton will be held on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. Shauna Silmon officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church.
