Mrs. Lois G. Rhodenizer, age 87, of Forrest City, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla.
Mrs. Rhodenizer was born Jan. 7, 1917, in Wynne, the daughter of John H. Gann and Etta Dunn Gann. She lived in Forrest City for most of her life, was a retired manager at Reltoc and was a member of the Forrest Hills United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Rhodenizer married John E. Rhodenizer in 1936 and he preceded her in death in 1990. She is survived by a daughter, Etta Kay Tedlock of Chelsea, Okla.; a brother, Bill Couch of Little Rock; a sister, Leota Lewis of Wynne; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son John G. "Bubba" Rhodenizer in 1999.
Visitation for Mrs. Rhodenizer will be held on Monday, Dec.
13, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services
will be held graveside on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at 11 a.m. in
Forrest Park Cemetery with Rev. James Wainscott officiating.
Mr. David Harold Shackelford, age 83, of Byhalia, Miss. and formerly of Forrest City, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at his home.
Mr. Shackelford was born March 31, 1921, in Myrtle, Miss., the son of Joseph Collins Shackelford and Lottie Guyton Shackelford. He lived in Forrest City for most of his life, was a salesman for Malone and Hyde, a veteran of World War II and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Forrest City.
Mr. Shackelford married Lucy Evelyn Hicks in 1946 and she precded him in death earlier this year. He is survived by two sons, David G. Shackelford of Byhalia, Miss. and Joseph H. Shackelford of Texas; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was also precded in death by a son, James C. Shackelford earlier this year.
Funeral services for Mr. Shackelford were held on Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at 10 a.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Burial followed in Holly Springs, Miss. at Hillcrest Cemetery.
