Mr. Claude Berry, age 73, of Forrest City, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mr. Berry was born March 9, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Claude Berry Sr. and Blanche Clay Berry. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Sanyo Manufacturing. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Berry is survived by two daughters, Claudia Berry Edwards
of Pontoon, Ill., Doris Harris of Stockton, Calif., one son, Keith
Bailey of St. Louis, Mo., and seven grandchildren. Visitation
for Mr. Berry will be held on Thursday, Dec. 16, from noon to
5 p.m. at Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on
Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, at 10 a.m., at St. Luke A.M.E. Church with
Johnny Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in West Tennessee
National Cemetery.
Mrs. Dorothy Mae Eldridge, age 90, of Colt, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mrs. Eldridge was born Sept. 29, 1914, in Colt, the daughter of Arthur Carr and Mattie Harper Carr. She was a homemaker, a lifelong resident of Colt and was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She is survived by a son, A.C. Eldridge of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Bobbie Eldridge of Memphis; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Eldridge in 1965 and three sisters.
Visitation for Mrs. Eldridge will be held on Friday, Dec. 17,
2004, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Kernodle Funeral
Home in Wynne. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec.
18, 2004, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Kernodle Funeral Home with
burial following in Forrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Pamela George, age 28, of Forrest City, died on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, at her home.
Mrs. George, born Jan. 9, 1976, in Forrest City, was the daughter of Freddie McDaniel ad Gloria George Smith. She is survived by her parents, Freddie McDaniel of Memphis and Gloria George Smith of Forrest City; one daughter, Queeitara George of Forrest City; one son, Deontreous Dotson of Forrest City; six sisters, Stephanie Heard and Tiffany Heard, both of Forrest City, Enda McDaniel and Crystal McDaniel, both of Memphis, Gloria McDaniel of Little Rock and Wanda Dixon of Wynne; eight brothers, Adrian Smith, Antonio Heard, Derrick Heard and Tyrone George, all of Forrest City, Freddie McDaniel Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas, Kevin McDaniel of Las Vegas, Nev. and Starles McDaniel and Tommy McDaniel, both of Wynne.
Visitation for Mrs. George will be held on Friday, Dec. 17,
2004, from noon to 5 p.m. at Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services
will be held on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Salem M.B.
Church with Rev. Oscar Jones officiating. Burial will follow in
Casteel Cemetery.
Mr. Hayward Lipscomb, age 62, of Colt, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mr. Lipscomb, born Aug. 28, 1942, in Forrest City, was the son of Frank Lipscomb Sr. and Ruby Griggs Lipscomb. He is survived by his wife, Lossie Jimerson Lipscomb of Forrest City; two daughters, Brenda Lipscomb and Ruby Lipscomb, both of Chicago, Ill.; three sons, Jeff Lipscomb and Hayward Lipscomb Jr., both of Chicago, Ill., and Earl Jimerson of Forrest City; a sister, Ruthstella Lipscomb of Chicago, Ill.; five brothers, A.J. Lipscomb of New York, Albert Lipscomb, Aubrey Lipscomb, Crosby Lipscomb and Frank Lipscomb Jr., all of Chicago, Ill.; 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Lipscomb will be held on Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, from noon to 5 p.m. at Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at 2:30 p.m. at Rising Sun M.B. Church with Rev. John Strong officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.
