Donald Lee Huckaba

Mr. Donald Lee Huckaba, age 52, of Palestine died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock.

Mr. Huckaba was born Jan. 20, 1952, in Forrest City, the son of Lawrence Huckaba and Frances Jayroe Huckaba. He lived in Palestine for most of his life and was the owner and operator of Mid South Truck Sales. He was a member of the Old Fashion Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Director.

Mr. Huckaba is survived by one daughter, Misty Huckaba of Palestine; one son, Jason Lee Huckaba of Palestine; a sister, Arlene Huckaba Davison of Forrest City; five brothers, Raymond Huckaba of Clarksdale, Miss., George Huckaba of Destrehan, La. and Charlie Huckaba, Bobby Huckaba and Rickey Huckaba all of Forrest City and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Don Huckaba in 2002.

Visitation for Mr. Huckaba will be held on Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held of Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bell Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Old Fashion Baptist Church in Palestine.


Betta S. "Bebe" Volkamer

Mrs. Betta S. "Bebe" Volkamer, age 52, of Fayetteville, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, at Washington Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Volkamer was born Sept. 4, 1952, in Forrest City, the daughter of Frank and Betta Lanier Shackleford. She was a member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville.

Mrs. Volkamer is survived by her husband, Jack M. Volkamer; a son, Dane Ibsen Jr. of Little Rock; one brother, John Shackleford of Los Angeles, Calif.; a step-son Bret Volkamer of Fayetteville and a step-daughter, Cindy Rinker of Oakland, Calif.

Memorial services for Mrs. Volkamer were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville with Rev. Lowell E. Grisham and Rev. C. Douglas Simmons officiating. Moore's Chapel Funeral Home in Fayetteville was in charge of all arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 1106, Fayetteville, AR 72702 or the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 9462, Fayetteville, AR 72702.
