Christine Pollack

Mrs. Christine Pollack, age 67, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, at her home.

Mrs. Pollack was born Jan. 20, 1937, in Forrest City. She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Crawford of Little Rock; two sisters, Geraldine Jordan of Nashville, Tenn. and Emma Cross of Forrest City; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pollack were held on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at New Light M.B. Church at 11 a.m. Burial followed in Casteel Cemetery. Clay Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.


Ray Arthur Simpson

Mr. Ray Arthur Simpson, age 79, a longtime resident of Forrest City and a former resident of Wynne, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at McClellan Veterans Memorial Hospital in Little Rock.

Mr. Simpson was born Oct. 12, 1925, in Heber Springs, the son of Fred and Annie Lawson Simpson. He was a veteran of the United States Army and the United States Navy. He served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a machinist for over 30 years at Yale Hoists in Forrest City before retiring in 1987. He was also a member of the National Coon Hunters Association and a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Simpson married Mildred Simpson in 1974 and she survives him along with a son, Allen Ray Simpson of Forrest City; two step-sons Michael Scott of Huntsville, Ala. and Charles "Bill" Scott of Pensacola, Fla.; one step-daughter, Beverly Smith of Austin, Texas; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

Visitation for Mr. Simpson will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne with Bro. J.T. Baskins and Bro. Elbert Carr officiating. Burial will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery in Wynne.


Peggy Ruth Taylor

Mrs. Peggy Ruth Taylor, age 60, of Forrest City, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of Lloyd and Carrie Gustavus, a pharmacy tech and a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Larry E. Taylor of Forrest City; one daughter, Cathy Criss of Palestine; three sons, Billy Bailey Jr. of Colt, Larry Wayne Taylor of Bono and Terry Taylor of Caldwell; three sisters, Elizabeth Chrestman of Byhalia, Miss., Mary Killingsworth of Caldwell and Betty Kucera of Sealy, Texas; three brothers, Tommy Gustavus of Rogers, James Gustavus and Freddie Gustavus both of West Memphis; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Bailey; a sister, Johnnie Gustavus and a brother, Henry Gustavus.

Visitation for Mrs. Taylor will be held tonight, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Roller Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the Good Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery.
