Mr. William F. Barber, age 88, of Palestine, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, at Veterans Hospital in Memphis.
Mr. Barber, born Nov. 19, 1916, was the son of Joe Barber and Mary Harmon Barber. He was a farmer and a member of the Old Fashion Baptist Church in Palestine.
Mr. Barber is survived by four sons, Clarence Barber and Dilbert Barber, both of Forrest City, Rodney Barber of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Dwight Barber of Palestine; two step-sons, Aubrey Goodwin and Bobby Goodwin, both of Forrest City; four daughters, Mary Ann Peevey and Brenda St. Clair, both of Wynne; Sharon Kay Lewis of Palestine and Nellie Abram of Fayetteville; three brothers, Pallard Barber of Sullivan, Mo., Charles Barber of Memphis and Eugene Barber of Palestine; three sisters, Bessie Alexander and Georgia Lavin, both of Sullivan, Mo., and Peggy Stuffelbean of St. Louis, Mo.; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Pearl Colvin Barber.
Visitation for Mr. Barber will be held tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home . Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home, with Bro. Gary Malone officiating. Burial will follow at Bell Cemetery in Palestine.
Mr. Willard Lee Griffin, age 83, of Memphis, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at his home.
Mr. Griffin, born May 12, 1921, in Palestine, was the son of Wash Griffin and Mae Watson Griffin. He was a retired painter and lived in Memphis for most of his life and was a veteran of World War II.
Mr. Griffin married Ruby K. Atwell in 1949 and she survives him along with one brother, Eugene Griffin of California and two sisters, Etta Busby of Forrest City and Annette Browder of Memphis.
Visitation for Mr. Griffin will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery .
Mrs. Dorothy Mae Hathcock, age 83, of Malvern, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, at HSC Medical Center.
Mrs. Hathcock was born Sept. 12, 1921, the daughter of Carson McDonald and Kester McDonald. She was a member of the Southwest Assembly of God Church in Little Rock.
Mrs. Hathcock is survived by three daughters, Joyce Patterson of St. James, Fla., Eva Jean Lowery of Malvern and Elizabeth Townley of Pine Bluff; two sons, James R. Hathcock of Little Rock and David Hathcock of Vilonia; three brothers, Floyd McDonald, Artis McDonald and Lindell McDonald all of Little Rock; and a sister, Patricia Draper of Malvern. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Othia R. Hathcock; a brother, Olen McDonald; a sister, Floy Jane Dent and one great-grandchild.
Visitation for Mrs. Hathcock will be held on Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home of Alexander. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Griffin Leggett Forrest Hills Funeral Home of Alexander, with Bro. Don Whitfield officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.

Mr. Paul Neal Makemson, age 66, of Madison, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004.
Mr. Makemson, born March 24, 1938, was the son of Charlie Makemson and Laona Vance Makemson. He was a Baptist by faith. Mr. Makemson is survived by a brother, Jackie Makemson of Madison.
Visitation for Mr. Makemson will be held, tonight, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home, with Bro. John Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Hughes Cemetery.
