Grady Eugene Brawner

Mr. Grady Eugene Brawner, age 92, of Colt, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis.

Mr. Brawner was born Oct. 8, 1911, in Colt, the son of Luther Odis Brawner and Edna Zula Pearson Brawner. He lived most of his life in Colt, was a retired manager of the Farmer's Co-Op in Pine Bluff and was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church in Colt.

Mr. Brawner is survived by his wife, Beulah Clay Hamilton Brawner; a daughter, Bettye Clay Spann of Colt; two brothers, George William Brawner of Colt and J.L. Brawner of Wynne; four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Randal Brawner; two brothers, Odis Andy Brawner and Luther Junior Brawner and a sister, Joy Ollie Neisler.

Visitation for Mr. Brawner will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Kernodle Funeral Home in Wynne. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, in the Chapel of Kernodle Funeral Home in Wynne, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Ed Addison officiating. Burial will follow in Loughridge Cemetery in Colt.

The family requests that memorials be made to New Prospect Baptist Church c/o Darrel Neeley, 5981 Highway 284, Forrest City, AR 72335.


Allen Walraven

Mr. Allen Walraven, age 48, of West Memphis, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.

Mr. Walraven was born Dec. 30, 1955, in Parkin, the son of Grover Walraven and Mavis Gilmer Walraven. He was a member of Caldwell Baptist Church.

Mr. Walraven married Sandra Haire in 1985, and she survives him along with three sons, Torrey Walraven of West Memphis, Christopher Walraven and Tyler Walraven both of Forrest City; a brother, Donald Walraven of Memphis; and a sister, Brenda Walraven of Mason, Tenn.

Graveside services for Mr. Walraven were held on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at 2 p.m., at Forrest Park Cemetery, with Rev. David Yates officiating. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
