Mr. William DeWayne "Bill" Ashcraft, age 52, of Forrest
City (formerly of Pine Bluff) went to his glory and to be with
his Lord February 17, 2004. Mr. Ashcraft was born July 21, 1952,
in Warren, Arkansas, a son of the late Odis Leon and Addie Merle
Cox Ashcraft.
Mr. Ashcraft was reared and received his early education in
Pine Bluff where he attended the Dollarway Schools. After receiving
the GED, he entered the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and
graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work in
1994. He then entered the University of Arkansas at Little Rock
and graduated in 1995 with a Masters Degree in Social Work. He
had been working in Forrest City as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor
for three years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Ashcraft is survived by his friend and mother of his children,
Connie Ashcraft Kinsey; two sons, William Odis Ashcraft and his
wife, Carrie of Jefferson and Thomas DeWayne Ashcraft of Hot Springs;
one daughter, Cecilia Leona Rose Ashcraft of Little Rock; three
brothers, Michael Reed of Eudora, Eddie Reed and John Reed, both
of Dumas; two sisters, Janie Garner and Glenda Parker, both of
Louann and the light of his eyes grandson DeWayne and granddaughter
Jessica Ashcraft.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 20, 2004, at 10:00
a.m. in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors
with Reverend John Strong officiating. Burial will be in Prosperity
Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Robinson's Thursday
evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Mrs. Gullie L. McDaniel, age 87, of Marianna, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at Crestpark Retirement Inn Skilled of Forrest City.
Mrs. McDaniel was born April 6, 1916, in Augusta. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, James McDaniel Sr. of Forrest City; a son, James McDaniel Jr. of Marianna; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. McDaniel will be held on Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, from 1 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Elcannon M.B. Church on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Albert McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in Elcannon Cemetery.
Mr. Roy Mucherson, age 49, of Forrest City, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mr. Mucherson was born April 13, 1954, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Richard Mucherson and Annie Pearl Smith Mucherson.
Mr. Mucherson is survived by his wife, Deloris Mucherson of Forrest City; his mother of Widener; five daughters, Rena Mucherson of Jonesboro, Tammy Mucherson of Pontiac, Mich., Schreel Hinds of Forrest City, Joyce B. of Little Rock and Sylvia Mucherson of Holly Grove; five sons, Roy Mucherson Jr. of Pontiac, Mich., Joseph Mucherson and Clarence Mucherson both of Forrest City, and Carl Mucherson and Keith Mucherson both of Holly Grove. Also, a brother, William Mucherson of Earle and five grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Mucherson will be held on Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at the Widener Baptist Church with Rev. Elbert Carr officiating. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery.
Mrs. Vergie L. Wade, age 98, of Forrest City, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at her home.
Mrs. Wade was born April 12, 1905, in Eades, Tenn., the daughter of Shelton Tatum and Daisey Davis Tatum. She was a member of the Jerusalem M.B. Church.
Mrs. Wade is survived by two daughters, Glenda L. Wade of Forrest City and Juanita Daisey Roby of North Little Rock; two sons, Andrew Wade of Kansas City, Mo., Lennell Wade of Haynes; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was proceded in death by her husband, Ulysses Charles Wade, and two daughters, Elizabeth Shirley Jone and Jeanette Wade.
Visitation for Mrs. Wade will be held on Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at Woodhouse Mortuary from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and also on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at Spring Grove Church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral Services will follow at the church on Saturday with Rev. Kenneth D. Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.
